Since skating nearly every Friday night at my home town’s roller rink as a kid and joining a junior roller derby team in 2011, roller skating has been a prominent and constant part of my life. The community, inclusion, and self discovery that I found through skating and team sports have become the foundation of who I am. To this day, I look to skating and roller derby communities as my safe space no matter where I am.
